As we make our way through our third year as an independent business, we're delighted to be able to update you on some of the things we've been doing to make sure we continue to meet the needs of our customers.  We've welcomed some new people and changed the focus of others to help keep us moving forward, well into the future.  Read on to hear more about what we've been up to.

A FEW WORDS FROM OUR SEBASTIAN LOMAX, OUR MD OF TESTING AND CONSULTANCY

Writing these updates gives me a great opportunity to reflect on everything we've been doing to help keep our fantastic business moving forward over the last few months.  2018 has been a really great year for British Engineering Services.  We’re really seeing the rewards of the hard work we’ve put in over the last couple of years to establish ourselves as a truly independent business and the feedback we’re getting from our customers is fantastic.  We’ve continued to focus on our team, we’ve brought in some more really great people and further developed many of those who have been with us for some time as we’ve continued to shape our company and our Testing and Consultancy business unit, in particular.

We’re approaching our third anniversary as British Engineering Services in a great place and we’re all excited about what the future holds for our company and everyone we work with.  As always, if you'd like to know more about working with British Engineering Services, email info@briteng.co.uk.

GROWING AND DEVELOPING OUR FANTASTIC TEAM

Our very own Nick Mayoh has made the move from our Salford testing labs to our New York Street office to take on a new role for the company as we continue to look for ways to become even more effective.   After more than three years at the labs, Nick is now based at our office where he is carrying out a new hybrid role, combining aspects of both a Head Office Engineer and Pre-Commissioning Surveyor.

Reporting to Richie Wood, Consultancy Operations Delivery Manager, Nick is going through an intensive period of training, learning from our team of experts and making the role his own.

"It's great to have been able to support Nick's progression.  There is so much potential for this new role to really take off and Nick is well placed to make that happen.  When he's fully trained, he'll be spending time both at customer sites and at the office as we continue to streamline our way of working and bridge the gaps between the different parts of the business," said Richie.

Below: Nick (left) and Richie (right) are excited to have introduced the new, hybrid role and look forward to seeing it develop over the coming months.

CONTINUING TO PARTNER WITH SIEMANS

Our relationship with Siemens has spanned over many years with a focus on their keeping their MRI scanners fit for purpose.  Martin Rapley, Consultancy Engineer, spends much of his time ensuring we continue to needs of this partnership, visiting one of their main locations several times a week to complete thorough surveillance inspections in line with relevant legislation.

These inspections include time working with the actual scanners along side the supporting documentation to help make sure they are being used as they should be, by people with the right qualifications and are calibrated as necessary.

Martin, along with a number of other British Engineering Services people, is fully trained in the use of Siemens manufacturing systems with all documentation signed off and cleared electronically.  This helps supports the most efficient way of working for both companies and ensures we are always able to operate as a true business partner for our customer.

STAYING CONNECTED

Richie Wood delivered another great team meeting earlier last month, making the most of the opportunity to bring his complete team together for a day.

Richie was joined by visitors from around the Group to deliver a useful and effective session, including Sebastian Lomax who spent time updating the team on business performance and priorities for 2019.

"Team meetings are a great way to make sure we stay focused on the needs of our customers and our business as a complete group and this was another great session," said Richie.
