Our very own Non-Destructive and Materials Testing Manager, Mark Ormrod, has been awarded the prestigious honour of an American Society of Non-destructive Testing (ASNT) fellowship for 2017. This is a great achievement, particularly as Mark is only one of a few English people to have received this accolade.
Mark has been involved with the ASNT for many years and has offered his expertise and knowledge in several different voluntary capacities including Director and Chairman of the North Atlantic Section. He is currently serving as ‘Region 18’ Director overseeing Great Britain, South Africa, Nigeria, Angola & Germany.
Mark has developed a successful career in the field of NDT, which has already spanned more than 20 years. He currently manages our testing laboratories, which involves leading a team of highly skilled NDT professionals and growing this part of our business. Mark recently oversaw the complex move from Norton Street to the home of our new labs in Salford, which has provided our testing division with additional space as we continue to service the needs of our expanding customer base.
The American Society of Non-Destructive Testing was formed in 1941 to provide those in the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) industry a forum by which to share educational material and training programmes, help advance NDT research and facilitate and promote the use of NDT technology etc.
Stewart Kay, Group CEO of British Engineering Services said: "There's no doubt that Mark is an expert in his field and being recognised in this way is something he deserves".
