We continue to look at how we're working with our customers to make sure we are offering the very best service at all times and are delighted with how we're performing as an independent business.   We're looking forward to what the next months have in store for us!

StewartI always relish the opportunity to sit down and write updates for both our people and our customers as it gives me the opportunity to really reflect on everything we've achieved as a business over recent months.  The first half of 2018 has been great for us and we're really seeing the results of all of the groundwork we have laid over the last couple of years and I'm delighted that our customers are seeing the effects too.

We're always focused on our team and continue to work  with our people to make we're all working in a way that meets the needs of our customers.  We're introduced some great new initiatives over recent months including our real time reporting tool and  are delighted to have welcomed some great new people, including two new members of our Executive Team, who you can read about later in this update.

We'd love to hear from you if you have anything you'd like to share or ask, simply email

Transitioning to a new service provider can be difficult for any business and at British Engineering Services we make sure we provide thorough, hands on support throughout the complete transition phase.

2018 has seen a stream of new business for our company and we've worked hard to ensure a seamless transition at all stages  For one of our new contracts, this has included additional training for many Engineer Surveyors to ensure they are completing the best standard of inspections on some of their bespoke equipment.

Below:  Greg Boole, Key Account Manager leads a training session with some of our Engineer Surveyors as part of the thorough transition phase.  For more information about Transition Management at British Engineering Services, email

We're always extremely proud of our team and the fact that our company continues to be made up of the very best people in our industry.  And we're always on the look out for even more great people to join us.

Over the last few months we have been delighted to welcome Jonathan Bradshaw to both our business and our Executive Team (below left) as Chief Information Officer.  Jonathan joined us from Agilisys earlier this year and quickly proved to be a great addition to our company.  For more information about Jonathan, read his profile on our website here.

We also recently announced that Gareth Hilton (below right) will be joining British Engineering Services in the early autumn to take on the role of Chief Customer Officer.  Gareth comes to us from RSA and his most recent position of Director, Specialty & Wholesale, Global Risk Solutions.  With his enthusiasm and passion, we are confident Gareth will be a great fit for our business and look forward to sharing more about him and his role in the coming months.

We rely on our team of Engineer Surveyors to help maintain our excellent levels of customer service and move our business forward and it's always great to welcome new Surveyors to our team.  And every group of new Engineer Surveyors completes a thorough induction in Manchester, before heading out into the field for their industry leading on-site training.

During their induction, they spend time with Andy Kidd, Chief Engineer, who works with several different departments around the business to ensure our joiners understand our ways of working, our focus on Health and Safety and are able to deliver the great service expected from our company.

Our relationship with National Farmers Union Mutual (NFUM) continues to be important to British Engineering Services and we make time every year to get involved in farmer safety events taking place around the country.  Geoff Butters, Technical Specialist (below, top) recently led a 'hands on' demonstration of how not to do it at a safety focused day in Luton, where he was watched by more than 100 attendees (bottom right) and some friendly cattle (bottom left)!

Minimising risk and keeping people safe is the number one priority for our business and we are always happy to work with our customers to promote the importance of working safely.  To learn more about how we work with NFUM and their customers, click here.

Biba is one of the most important annual events for our industry and this year we made the decision to move from attendee to exhibitor.  We were delighted to spend time talking about the importance of the Testing, Inspections and Certification industry and received some great feedback from visitors to the Manchester based event.

Business Development Managers Sarah Purnell and Chris Cassidy, pictured above, spent time sharing the British Engineering Services story, answering questions about our growing business and building new relationships.  If you'd like to speak with a member of our Business Development Team directly to learn more about how we can support your business, email

The Testing, Inspections and Certification industry continues to be vital when it comes to managing risk.  At British Engineering Services, we're always looking for ways to educate people on the importance of what we do and recently created a short video to help bring this to life.  For a quick insight into how we help 'Keep Britain buzzing' watch our 90 second video here
