Don’t just take our word for it…
Who we work with is everything to us, our relationships with our customers really matter. We love working with people who think like we do. We want to inspire everyone to see how important the safety of their staff, themselves and anyone around them is and we’re doing a great job.
Solenis is a leading global producer of specialty chemicals for water-intensive industries, including the pulp, paper, oil and gas, chemical processing, mining, biorefining, power and municipal markets.
To keep the business and its machinery and equipment safe and compliant, the UK Plant and Integrity Manager, Mr Ian Ridley developed a Control of Major Accident Hazards (COMAH) inspection regime in partnership with British Engineering Services that is closely monitored by the Health and Safety Executive. Our partnership with Solenis includes the first ‘intelligent customer concept’ which includes an Integrity Management System managed by both companies working together.
As part of our ongoing partnership with Solenis, we completed a large-scale programme of inspections in June 2019. With a lot of ageing plant, it was seen necessary to do these during a large and extremely technically challenging outage.
After months of planning we agreed to send eight specialist Engineer Surveyors to be headed by Peter Cairns, and five specialist Non-Destructive Testing Technicians. The team spent time working on 10 tanks, two GRP tanks, a caustic tank and four further tanks.
Michael Hulme, the Senior Project Engineer on site stated that all tanks had been successfully inspected, repaired and re-inspected. It was an incredible effort from all involved as the level of repairs far exceeded an already challenging program. The work put in by Ian Ridley and the team he assembled was outstanding and has been recognised by the Solenis Management. Mike Rosedale, the Plant Manager on site echoed the comments and thanked everyone for their commitment from start to finish.
